What Happened

Map 1 — Sunset (KC pick) (KC pick)

KC ran its established Omen-Viper structure, with N4RRATE on Chamber and LewN on Neon. Liquid was playing Sunset competitively for the first time since 2025, and it showed early — KC jumped to a 6-1 lead before Liquid clawed the half back to 6-6. The map was decided on KC's defense side, where the team allowed almost nothing, closing out 13-7.

Both sides entered unbeaten on Ascent in Stage 2, with mirrored double-Duelist identities — KC ran Phoenix-Neon, TL countered with the same Phoenix-Jett composition that had worked against FUT Esports a day earlier. KC's defense side broke the symmetry, going 8-4 despite dropping both pistol rounds. A five-Classic eco conversion on attack tilted the map fully in KC's favor.

KC came in 5-0 on Lotus in Stage 2, but Liquid found its match here. Kicks and kamo each finished the map with 23 kills as Liquid limited KC's usually dominant attack side to just five rounds. It was the first sign in the series that Liquid could generate momentum, and it set up a reverse-sweep attempt on Summit.

Liquid opened with a 7-0 run by attacking A almost exclusively, taking a 7-5 half lead. KC stabilized by winning the pistol and anti-eco to open the second half, then took over — LewN led KC's attack while N4RRATE and SUYGETSU exploited gaps in Liquid's defensive setups. KC closed it out from 12-10, securing the title on its fourth match point of the round.

KC's advantage was structural before it was mechanical. Removing Split and Abyss forced the series onto maps where KC's habits were more established and Liquid's were less tested — Sunset in particular, a map Liquid had not played competitively in over a year. That decision alone shaped three of the four maps played.

Individually, the gap was defined by consistency rather than one standout stat. dos9 finished the series with a 9.40 rating and a team-high 230 ACS, but VALOINFO's full box score shows the story was broader than one player.

What's Next

Karmine Corp heads to its first-ever Champions event as EMEA's top seed. Team Liquid, despite the loss, still qualifies for its second consecutive Champions appearance in Shanghai next month. This was also the final EMEA event under the format the region has used since 2023, meaning both teams' Shanghai runs will open the next structural chapter of the region.
