LOUD and LEVIATÁN Sweep Into Upper Semifinals as Americas Playoffs Open

LOUD and LEVIATÁN both closed out Upper Round 1 of VCT 2026 Americas Stage 2 Playoffs 2-0, but the map data reveals the same story behind both sweeps: a single defender collapsing under repeated pressure. A full map-by-map breakdown of both series.
Thursday night's opening round of the VCT 2026 Americas Stage 2 Playoffs produced two 2-0 results, but the underlying map data tells a more layered story than the scorelines suggest. Both LOUD and LEVIATÁN won clean, but both series had a genuine second-map fight before snapping shut — and in each case, the same failure mode decided it: a fifth starter completely losing the plot on defense.
LEVIATÁN 2-0 MIBR
LEVIATÁN
MIBR actually led 6-2 through the first eight rounds on their pistol/anti-eco execution, but Sato's Raze completely reset the map from round nine onward — a 9.90 VI rating, 27 kills against 12 deaths, and a map-high 360 ACS. The collapse belonged to zekken: 7 kills, 18 deaths, a -11 round differential and a 0.32 rating, the single worst individual scoreline of the night.
MIBR picked their own map and it went worse than Abyss. Neon put up the map's best individual performance — 301 ACS, 19 kills, 9.80 VI rating** — while LEV's whole roster finished with a positive differential. Verno was the lone bright spot for MIBR at 255 ACS, but Mazino (4.20 VI rating, 5K/14D) and tex (0.58 rating) gave LEV free rounds on the other flanks.
The series score reads 2-0, but the story is really two different collapses stitched together — MIBR led early on Abyss before Sato took over, then never competed at all on their own pick. zekken's -11 differential on Abyss alone accounts for roughly a third of MIBR's total round losses across the series.
LOUD 2-0 FURIA
LOUD
A near-total shutout on LOUD's own pick. Every LOUD starter finished with a positive differential; tkzin led with 289 ACS and an 88% KAST. On FURIA's side, koalanoob and artzin both finished with negative-six differentials or worse — koalanoob's -5 FK/FD split alone (2 first kills against 7 first deaths) meant FURIA were repeatedly starting rounds down a man.
FURIA's best map of the night, and the only one where they were genuinely competitive — artzin exploded for 275 ACS, 21 kills, a 9.60 VI rating , keeping FURIA within reach until the back half. But koalanoob collapsed again: 11 kills, 19 deaths, a **-8 differential and 41% KAST**, the same pattern that cost FURIA Haven. DaviH's 262 ACS and Darker's 12 assists closed it out for LOUD.
koalanoob
Neither result was close on the scoresheet, but both losing teams had the same problem in a different jersey. koalanoob's -15 combined differential and zekken's identical -15 across their respective series aren't a coincidence of framing — in both matches, the losing side's fifth entry point simply couldn't hold space, and both winning teams' structures were disciplined enough to keep exploiting it round after round rather than letting it go unpunished.
The pattern of the night
Both series were decided less by a standout star performance and more by the losing team's weakest link being repeatedly targeted and never adjusted for. Anti-stratting that specific player should be the first item on both LOUD and LEVIATÁN's next opponent's prep list.

VCT 2026: Americas Stage 2 Playoffs — Bracket Update
Both MIBR and FURIA now face immediate elimination in the lower bracket. If either team's weak-link problem shows up again against Evil Geniuses or G2 — two rosters capable of finding and exploiting exactly that kind of gap — the loss won't just end their playoff run, it'll be the third straight series both franchises will need to explain heading into the offseason conversation.
