Gen.G Outlast primmie's Heroics to Close Out Group Alpha Unbeaten

Karon stayed positive on every map and Raxcal delivered the decider, but it was Full Sense's primmie who nearly stole the series on his own before Gen.G shut the door 2-1.

Gen.G entered the day already in control of Group Alpha, and they left it unbeaten, but Full Sense refused to make it easy. After trading their own pick and the opponent's pick to open the series, Gen.G leaned on Karon's all-around defense and a clutch 1v2 to close out Lotus, only to watch Full Sense's primmie drag his team back into the series on Sunset with one of the standout individual performances of the round. The rubber match on Split turned into a rope-a-dope: Gen.G raced out to an 8-4 halftime lead, survived a Full Sense pistol-round steal, and then leaned on Raxcal converting an eco round into a four-kill swing to keep Full Sense's rally at arm's length all the way to a 13-11 finish.

Gen.G, 2-1, sealing an unbeaten run through Group Alpha and a direct ticket to playoffs, while Full Sense drop to 1-4 and are pushed into Play-Ins against a VCL side in the upper round.

On Gen.G's own pick, Lotus, the two sides traded evenly through a 6-6 first half. The map's attack-sided lean should have favored Gen.G's pick, but it was their defense that ultimately decided things — Karon and t3xture both finished their sides positive, and Full Sense's push to equalize around round 16 died when Karon won a 1v2 to snuff out the comeback attempt. Gen.G closed it out 13-8.

Sunset flipped the series' tone almost immediately. Gen.G opened with four straight rounds, looking every bit like they'd sweep, until primmie effectively refused to let Full Sense go down 0-2. He carried the first half largely alone, dragging his team to a 7-5 halftime lead. Gen.G answered with the pistol and Karon's fastest ace of the match on the A elbow to open the second half, but Full Sense's first-half cushion held up through a tight, trade-heavy back stretch, and Full Sense closed out 13-10.

Facing a decider, Gen.G reverted to the identity that won them Lotus — fast round-openers backed by disciplined post-plant execution — and it worked again on Split, where they jumped out 4-0 before Full Sense even found a foothold.

Full Sense's best chance to swing Split came in round four, an eco-to-thrifty conversion that denied what looked like a building Raxcal ace. It briefly slowed Gen.G's momentum, but proved to be a consolation round rather than a real disruption — Gen.G pushed the lead to 8-4 by halftime regardless. Full Sense stole the second-half pistol, and for a moment a repeat of the Sunset script looked possible, but Raxcal turned a Gen.G eco round into a four-kill swing that put the map back in Gen.G's hands and let them grind out the closing rounds even as Full Sense clawed within two near round 12.

Karon was the series' quiet constant — positive impact on all three maps, a 68% KAST clip, and the two biggest individual moments of Gen.G's map wins (the Lotus 1v2 clutch and the Sunset ace). Raxcal's 1.38 rating and 23 kills on Split were the loudest single-map number of the series, and his four-kill eco conversion directly answered Full Sense's pistol steal. Full Sense's own best player, primmie, finished the series with a monstrous 1.34 rating and 259 ACS, but it came in a losing effort — proof his output alone couldn't offset Gen.G's depth.

Gen.G finish Group Alpha unbeaten and advance straight to playoffs, giving them a bye while the bracket sorts itself out below them. Full Sense fall to 1-4 and are routed into Play-Ins, where they'll face a VCL side in the upper round — a tough draw, but primmie's series form gives them a real path if he can get more support from the rest of the roster.

Map-by-Map Breakdown

Map 1 — Lotus (Gen.G pick) (Gen.G pick)
GEN.G 13 - 8 FULL SENSE

A tight 6-6 first half gave no hint of what was coming. Gen.G's defense, led by Karon and t3xture, locked the map down after the switch, and when Full Sense pushed to equalize around round 16, Karon's 1v2 clutch ended the threat for good. Gen.G closed the half on a decisive run to take it 13-8.

Map 2 — Sunset (Full Sense pick) (Full Sense pick)
GEN.G 10 - 13 FULL SENSE

Gen.G's 4-0 start looked like a rout in the making, but primmie almost single-handedly rebuilt Full Sense's half, closing it out 7-5 in their favor. Gen.G struck back with the pistol and Karon's ace on the A elbow, but the second half stayed razor-close, and Full Sense's first-half cushion carried them to a 13-10 win.

Map 3 — Split (Decider) (Decider)
GEN.G 13 - 11 FULL SENSE

Gen.G opened 4-0 again, and though Full Sense denied a building Raxcal ace with a round-four eco steal, it only delayed the inevitable — Gen.G led 8-4 at the half. Full Sense stole the second pistol, but Raxcal answered by converting a Gen.G eco round into a four-kill swing, and Gen.G held off a late Full Sense push to close it out 13-11.

MVP: Raxcal (23/13/2, 67% KAST, 236 ACS) • Eco-round 4K flipped the second half back to Gen.G

Player Performance

Karon (Gen.G) was the series' most complete player — never dipping below a positive +/- on any map, and directly responsible for the biggest individual moments in both of Gen.G's wins. Raxcal (Gen.G) was quiet early but exploded on Split when it mattered most, posting the series' best single-map rating. On the other side, primmie (Full Sense) was the story of the series regardless of the result — a 1.34 series rating and 259 ACS that kept Full Sense competitive in every map they played.
